ENJOY THE CRAIC ON 'IRISH NIGHT' THURSDAY AT REDCAR
Monday 22 June 2009
Redcar's 'Irish Night' Meeting next Thursday (July 2) is a seven-race programme beginning at 6-10 p.m.

There are Irish-themed promotions and music by ‘Murphy’s Marbles’, who play foot-stomping Irish ditties. Also performing are dancers from Scoil Rince i Muir, an Irish dancing school in Thornaby.
Racegoers will be hoping for the luck of the Irish in the feature race, The ‘Go Racing in Yorkshire’ Summer Festival Handicap Stakes – a contest for three-year-olds over one mile and a quarter – the title of which draws attention to the Summer Festival on the Yorkshire racecourses which begins at Ripon on Saturday, July 18.
Two-year-olds are in the spotlight in a couple of Nursery Handicaps - The Market Cross Jewellers Stakes (six furlongs) and The Wedding Receptions @ Redcar Racecourse Stakes over the minimum distance of five furlongs.
As usual, the giant screen will enable racegoers to follow all of the action on the track.
