Picture This Competition

Children are being encouraged to enter the racecourse‚Äôs picture competition to win a VIP day out at the races. All they have to do is draw or paint a picture about horse racing, and send it to the racecourse.

IT'S Family Fun Day at Redcar Races on Sunday (19 JULY) - the second day of the Go Racing in Yorkshire Summer Festival.

Plenty of entertainment is being laid on for youngsters, including fairground rides, a clown, a face painter, bouncy castles and slides.

Children are being encouraged to bring their pens or pencils to enter the racecourse’s picture competition.

All they have to do is draw or paint a picture about horse racing, and send it to the racecourse.

The overall winner will win a VIP day out for their family at the School's Out Dayat the racecourse on Sunday 9 August, and his or her picture will be re-produced on the front and back cover of the raceday programme. The runners-up in the competition – divided into three age groups up to 16 years - will have their pictures published inside the programme. The closing date is Friday 31 July.

Redcar Racecourse’s General Manager Amy Fair said: “This is a fun way in which children can become involved in the sport of horse racing, and have the chance of winning a VIP out at the races for their family.”

Children, who will be able to collect their pictures again from Monday 17 August, should send their drawings to: Picture Competition, Redcar Racecourse, Redcar TS10 2BY
