Hoop-hoop-hooray - circus fun is coming to Redcar
19/07/23

ROLL up, roll up – all the fun of the circus is coming to Redcar Racecourse this weekend.

The seaside racecourse stages its Circus Family Fun Day, on Sunday, as part of the Go Racing In Yorkshire Summer Festival.

A big top will be erected in family-friendly Course Enclosure, in the middle of the track, and there will be lots of free fun on offer for youngsters.

They can learn a range of circus skills, let their hair down on bouncy castles and have their faces painted while the adults cheer on their horses in action-packed races.

Gates open at 12.45pm, with the first race scheduled for 2.45pm, and the last race due off at 5.20pm. However, these times are provisional and will be confirmed 48 hours before the meeting.

Spectators can save money by booking admission tickets in advance and save money on the pay-on-the-day price. Grandstand Enclosure admission is £16 in advance and £18 by cash or card on the day. Course Enclosure admission is £6 in advance and £7 cash on the day.

Redcar’s general manager, Amy Fair, said: “Circus Family Fun Day is one of our most colourful and fun-packed meetings of the year, and it’s a great opportunity for the whole family to have an enjoyable day out.”

Under 18s come racing for free into both enclosures and must be accompanied by an adult at all times. There’s no need to book a ticket for children under 18. There are also concessions on the day for those aged 65-plus and students with a valid student card.
