THE lid has finally been lifted on our Treasure Chest of Memories ahead of our 150th anniversary on August 9.
We set out to find 150 memories of racing at Redcar to mark the 150 years since the first meeting took place on the racecourse.
And we have been overwhelmed by the response, with so many people sending us their memories.
The Treasure Chest – unveiled ahead of the pirates descending for our Caribbean Carnival Family Day tomorrow – is now bulging with historic moments.
Memorable horses, jockeys and trainers are all recorded, along with key developments, Royal visits, and events that made us smile.
We know all too well that there will be oversights, and we’re sorry if your particular favourite hasn’t been included, but we intend to keep adding to the collection of memories once the anniversary has passed – so keep them coming.
