Young artists urged to have a crack at Easter colouring competition
13/03/20

CALLING all artistic youngsters – how do you fancy winning some cracking prizes in an Easter colouring competition?

Redcar Racecourse is appealing to young artists to come up with the design for the official racecard for the prestigious Easter Monday meeting on April 13.

The challenge is to colour in an Easter-themed racing scene, with great prizes on offer.

As well as having the honour of their entry appearing on the cover of the official racecard, the winning artist will also:

  • Have a race named after them on the day.
  • Present the trophy to the winning connections.
  • Enjoy a VIP day out on Easter Monday for two adults and two children, with VIP entrance badges and racecards.
  • To include canapés on arrival, a three-course meal, a bottle of house wine, plus light bites afternoon tea.
  • A chocolate gift.

The runner-up will have their entry printed inside the racecard and will receive four Grandstand tickets for Easter Monday. The third-placed artist will have their entry printed in the racecard and will receive two Grandstand tickets.

Last year’s winner was five-year-old Grace Chapman, from Hartlepoool, who enjoyed a fantastic day out with her family thanks to her artistic skills.

Redcar’s general manager Amy Fair said: “Every year, we are really impressed by the artistic talents of local children, so we look forward to receiving the entries for this year’s competition.

“Easter Monday is an important meeting for us so it’s lovely to know that the racecard on that day will be a local masterpiece!”
