JOCKEY Connor Beasley is flying back for Redcar's opening fixture of the season after riding a Group 1 double in Dubai last night.
Beasley, stable jockey for Michael Dods, was the most successful rider at the Dubai World Cup at Meydan, winning the $1m Dubai Kahayla Classic for Arabian horses on First Class, then followed up on 40-1 outsider Dark Saffron in the $2m Golden Shaheen.
The rider, from Spennymoor, said: "It's definitely the best day of my career. Two Group 1s takes a fair bit of beating - it will top my list for a long time."
Beasley has four rides at Redcar on Monday: Sanbona, Hale End, Miss Raincloud, and Cuda Been A Rolex.
