All horses are given first rate care at Redcar Racecourse, from the moment they arrive at the racecourse, to going home at the end of the raceday. We are dedicated to minimising risks and dealing quickly with any incident which may occur.  Working closely wih the British Horseracing Authority (BHA) we ensure that every conceivable opportunity has been taken to minimise injury to the horses.

On racedays Redcar Racecourse employed a team of highly trained equine professionals, ensuring the a veterinary surgeon can be in attendance within seconds of any incident.

The HorsePWR initiative is dedicated to the Thoroughbred racehorse, and aims to improve understanding of the care given to our horses throughout and after their careers in racing.

HorsePWR is supported by the British Horseracing Authority (BHA), Great British Racing (GBR) and the Hors Welfare Board (HWB).
