IT was a night to remember for father and son jockey duo Duran and Warren Fentiman at Redcar as they both rode a winner at the same meeting for the first time.

Duran led the way with victory on the Tim Easterby-trained Bye Law in the Bakers Tailoring EBF Restricted Novice Stakes, and Warren followed up on Double Parked in the Marske Fabrications and Engineering Handicap to give Easterby a double.

After Double Parked (pictured below) won for the third time at Redcar, Warren poked fun at his dad, saying: "I didn't want him to be one up on me! Double Parked is such a game horse and he loves it here at Redcar."

An hour earlier, Duran had clearly been impressed with Bye Law, who was following up a victory at Ayr on his second outing and looks a horse to follow.

After the son of Invincible Army stretched clear of Ed Bethell's Wonderful Friend, the winning jockey said: "He did everything right and won well even with a penalty. He's a real nice horse."

There was also a double for another Malton trainer when Julia Camacho won the last two races with Alpine Girl and Bibendum, both ridden by Ryan Sexton.

Alpine Girl landed the Redhill Contractors Limited Handicap by a length from Michael Dods’ consistent gelding Lord Abama and Sexton said: "There are plenty more races left in her. We're only just finding out what she's capable of."

A first-time visor was the key to Bibendum winning the Celebrate National Racehorse Week Handicap by three-quarters of a length from the veteran Brian The Snail.

Camacho said: “We worked him in a visor the other day and he stretched out a lot better, so it's done the trick today. He’s a really sweet gentleman of a horse.”

The meeting began with another Malton success when Mystical Maria justified favouritism in the Every Race Live On Racing TV Handicap under Oisin Orr.

The 2-1 shot got the better of David Brown’s Princess Niyla by a neck and Orr said: "She can be a bit keen, so the plan was to switch her off. Hopefully, she can win again."

Eternal Force, trained at Newmarket by William Haggas and ridden by 3lbs claimer Harry Burns, started at odds of 1-14 in the Market Cross Jewellers Novice Stakes and won without being extended.

The winning rider said: "The plan was to keep it simple and put the race to bed. Gelding him has brought out a better attitude and I see no reason why he can't progress."
