JOCKEY Jason Hart has cemented his association with Charlie and Mark Johnston this season and the partnership can strike again at Redcar on Wednesday.

The Middleham father-and-son team provided Hart with a winner at the last Redcar meeting when Pillar of Hope bounced back after a 535-day break.

And the combination looks to have a solid-looking chance of landing the Watch RacingTV For Free For 31 Days Handicap with Knightswood.

The three-year-old colt has run creditably in higher grade handicaps at both Royal Ascot and Glorious Goodwood this summer and was denied a clear run at Beverley last time.

This may well be the opportunity for Knightswood – a course and distance winner under Hart back in May – to get back onto the scoresheet.

Hart and the Johnstons will also have high hopes of taking the British EBF Supports Racing To School Future Stayers Maiden Stakes with In These Shoes.

The two-year-old Starspangledbanner filly has shown plenty of promise by coming second at Carlisle and Thirsk on her two runs so far.

The danger is likely to be the William Haggas-trained daughter of Kingman, Good Gracious, who stayed on well over six furlongs to be fourth on her debut at Haydock and should appreciate the extra furlong with Cieren Fallon riding.

Hayley Turner comes up to Redcar for a single ride on Kaif for the Tony Whitehead 60 Courses At 60 Maiden Stakes. The Teofilio filly, trained at Newmarket by David Simcock, showed enough promise when third on her Kempton debut to suggest she won't be far away.

The eight-race card gets underway at 1.43pm with the Try RacingTV For Free Now racingtv.com/freetrial Nursery. Crime Fiction, trained at Malton by Tim Easterby, got off the mark at Redcar at the back end of August, beating the Michael Dods-trained subsequent Catterick winner Pop World by a neck in a Class 5 race.

Crime Fiction (pictured below) then found the step up to Class 2 too hot on her next run at Doncaster but is back down to Class 5 and can get back to winning ways under Duran Fentiman.

Smile And Pay, trained in North Yorkshire by Craig Lidster, showed improved form to be third of 13 in a Newcastle nursery last time out and, now wearing blinkers and a hood for the first time, could be the answer to the racingtv.com/freetrial nursery.

Jump jockey turned trainer Peter Niven has been enjoying his visits to Redcar lately thanks to back-to-back wins by Hurstwood, ridden both times by Paul Mulrennan. The combination look to have a winning chance again with Sugar Baby in the Start Your RacingTV Free Trial Now Handicap. The gelding is clearly in good heart after wins at Thirsk and Musselburgh and a close second at Beverley in his last three runs.

North Yorkshire handler Geoff Harker and veteran jockey Tony Hamilton had a nice winner with Hail Sezer at Redcar in August, and the pair can be successful in the Watch Race Replays at racingtv.com Handicap (Division One) with Key Look.

The Dawn Approach mare is another on a good run of form with two seconds and a win in her last three runs.

Division Two sees Miss Candy, trained at Newmarket by Jane Chapple-Hyam, and Albeseeingyer, trained in Staffordshire by Steph Hollinshead, bidding for hat-tricks. Preference is for the former who has shown a good attitude in winning consecutive races at Yarmouth.
