Newly-weds Sarah and Andrew celebrate emotional victory as Redcar’s Best-Dressed Couple
27/08/23

Newly-weds Sarah and Andrew Hall were celebrating again when they were crowned Redcar’s Best-Dressed Couple on Gin and Gents Evening.

The couple, who live in Redcar, were married in emotional circumstances two months ago after Sarah was diagnosed with brain cancer.

“I’m doing my best to kick cancer in the backside for as long as I can, and being married to Andrew is amazing because he’s my best friend too,” said Sarah.

The couple’s wedding, at the Treebridge Hotel, near Stokesley, was donated by the charity Gift of A Wedding.

Milkman Andrew’s wedding suit came from Dandy Threads, in Guisborough, and he made good use of it by wearing it for the Best-Dressed Couple contest.

Andrew said: “I’ve never been to the races before and I’m not sure I can top this visit!”

The couple won a pair of Boss watches from Market Cross Jewellers and a bottle of champagne to toast their win. Lee and Louise Saunders, of Skelton, were runners-up, winning four tickets to a future Redcar meeting. Rob and Rochelle Charlton-Lainè came third, winning two Redcar tickets.

Earlier, keen athlete Vic Brudenell ran off with the title of Redcar’s Best-Dressed Man for 2023.

Vic, who works at the Elring Klinger car factory in Redcar, is a member of New Marske Harriers, and competes for England in masters long-distance events.

Vic will be able to time his runs to perfection after winning a Boss watch from Market Cross Jewellers, as well as a shopping experience from Bakers Tailoring, and a bottle of champagne.

“I’m chuffed to bits,” he said.

Runner-up was Rich Johnson, of Sedgefield, and third place went to Adam Booth, of Guisborough. They both won tickets to a future Redcar meeting.

The judges were Dawn Welsh, from Market Cross Jewellers, Tom Power, from Bakers Tailoring, and TV personality Pam Royle.
