Redcar launches new competition to highlight value of stable staff

REDCAR is launching a new competition this season to recognise the unsung heroes of the racing industry.

The popular northern racecourse is teaming up with Millbry Hill Country Store to launch a season-long Best Turned Out Series.

For every race run at Redcar, across 18 fixtures from April to November, there will be a Best Turned Out prize of £50, plus a Millbry Hill voucher, and commemorative rosette.

Throughout the season, a leader-board will track the stable staff who earn the most rosettes and an overall champion will be revealed before the final race of 2019.

Redcar will be posting regular updates on the leading contenders as well as video tips on how to turn out a horse on racedays.

Amy Fair, Redcar’s general manager, said: “Stable staff are the backbone of our industry, doing a brilliant job behind the scenes, and we want to highlight their value to the sport.

“Redcar’s commitment to the Best Turned Out Series, with the support of Millbry Hill, is our way of shining a stronger spotlight on these unsung heroes of racing.”
