A JUVENILE filly has been sold for 250,000 guineas and is Royal Ascot bound after making an impressive debut at Redcar.
Miss Yechance, trained at Newmarket by Jack Morland, was an eye-catching winner of the Join Racing TV Now EBF Restricted Maiden Stakes on Zetland Gold Cup day last month.
The trainer travelled to Redcar for the race and said at the time: "She's shown us nothing but speed since she came into the yard and she's a very professional filly. She could be a Royal Ascot type in the making."
After Miss Yechance won with plenty in hand from Grant Tuer's well-backed Advertised, winning jockey Sam James said: "I sat on this filly before the breeze-ups, and I thought she was very quick. She was pricking her ears at the line.
"Jack Morland hasn't been training for long but he knows what to do with two-year-olds and he's going places."
Now, a few weeks later, the chestnut daughter of Cotai Glory has been sold to Royal Chance Bloodstock for 250,000 guineas at the Tattersalls Online June Pop-up Sale and is entered for two races at Royal Ascot next week.
She has the choice of the Group 2 Queen Mary Stakes or the listed Windsor Castle Stakes on Wednesday, June 18.
The filly, whose dam, Rosie Bassett, is by Wootton Bassett, had been bought as a yearling for £32,000 by EMW Equine but was unsold at £48,000 at the Goffs UK Breeze Up Sale in April.
A spokesman for her new owners said: “She won very well at Redcar and we were really impressed with her run.”
Miss Yechance will remain in training with Jack Morland.
